Hi there - I wanted to respond to your post on infertility. I am in a BIG rush to get out the door to go on vaca so if this sounds curt it's NOT!
Actually, I know a great deal about adoption, I am an adoptee myself and we are currently in the process of international adoption, and it is costing us about 20K and the time from start to finish is 15 months - for one child or 10.
Also, one of my dear friends worked with an adoption broker and her time from start to finish to get a healthy American newborn was less than a year. And I have heard from adoption agencies here in Texas who are begging for parents of mixed race babies - they have more babies than parents.
So, this is why I get so frustrated when I see my friends undergoing IVF, which has about a 25% success rate - when there are about 144 million orphans in the world who need homes.
I dearly understand the desire to be pregnant, but to spend thousands and thousands on fertility treatments which have such low success rates, as opposed to a GUARANTEED baby thru adoption (assuming one doesn't have any circumstances such as a criminal record) - this is what makes me go, oh please, please sweet friends, it hurts me so much to see you hurt - please go adopt a baby!! They are out there and they need mommies!
